    • Professor Ellis introduced the concept of scaling laws, which say that certain ratios of quantities follow a defined pattern even across very great distances, of many orders of magnitude, such as body mass vs. heart rate or branch numbers vs. tree size. Where else in nature might some scaling laws exist? Consider making a graph of a few data points to see if your predictions might be correct and share it with others to review and provide feedback.
