3.6 Extra Dimensions

    • Consider what we are contending with in string theory. We need to visualize a nine-dimensional space and assume we have a membrane with five spacial dimensions, and another with six spacial dimensions. This can be very challenging, and perhaps we start with some simpler situations. Consider the three-dimensional space we know, and think of two objects that can interact in that space. How many dimensions do the objects have? How many dimensions is their intersection? Describe or share some examples you visualized.
