Newton’s Law means the force of Gravity acts instantaneously. If we describe the force by a field then it means the force of gravity travels with the speed of light. So the two descriptions are not equivalent. Is this correct.
The electromagnetic field could be the ether that was theorized long ago. Interesting to see similar theories build upon each other throughout time. Excited to see what other fields of study will arise from theoretical science.
