A theory which has failed to prove anything, was picked in order to make things turn out life they are, and leads to a conclusion that Anything and Everything will happen an infinite number of times, seems by Occam’s razor alone to be an indication that we have taken a wrong turn somewhere!
November 30, 2023 at 3:57 amThey DO occupy most of the “space,” but they are FAR outnumbered by those that went down the hill first, and nothing is happening in those areas EXCEPT inflation. If 99.87% of the total population are within 3 SD of the mean, (P(x>Z) = 0.0013499) it seems to me that it is most LIKELY that we would end up being in one of these many, though admittedly much smaller regions within the space of possibilities. I may be wrong, however.
November 30, 2023 at 3:04 amThough his suggestion that inflationary theory has been a failure is thought provoking, I must admit that I too have been in agreement with several others, that given enough time, even VERY unlikely events can happen. It’s possible that evidence of his claims is forthcoming, and I am interested in hearing a bit more about his idea. Considering alternative explanations is important when considering theories that were created, in a sense, “fit to order” to provide an explanation for a a specific perceived problem, such as flatness and horizen.
November 30, 2023 at 1:32 amI agree with those who say that human consciousness is NOT required to “collapse a wavefunction,” all that is required is for a measurement to occur. For ANY quantum particle that exists in a superposition, when it becomes entangled with a larger, non-quantum sized system, THIS counts as a “measurement.” No human brain, or even any type of a nervous system is required, if you follow the so called “Many Worlds” interpretation of QM.
November 29, 2023 at 6:03 pmIt is NOT really true that the lighter object moves around the heavier one. The Sun has such great mass compared to the earth that we can neglect the motion of the sun in many cases, that is true, but every action has an equal and opposite reaction, right? So, if we were the only planet, the Sun would mover in a tiny circle while the earth moves in a much larger circle around the sun, but it’s still true that from the Sun’s perspective, WE appear to be going around it.
