The brain is conditioned or programmed to act based on data already stored over the years since birth and recent actions. Accordingly ,choices for an individual is limited by that and action at any point of time is unique and can be the only one. There is no so called free will.

For a person at rest outside the barn will observe that pole fits inside the barn. But if the dynamite is inside the barn, it will not observe so. Not able to explain.
Yes I believe that future too exists and we are in a block universe. But not all scientists would like to accept this as it would mean that we have to accept the concept of predetermined destiny, beyond one’s control?
We have to consider consciousness as another fundamental aspect like space and time for us to understand Nature and find answers to subjective experience.
