  • Yes I do think reality could be in a state where there’s no quantum entanglement. Assuming it’s sound to conclude that “no quantum entanglement” implies “no spacetime” (re your proposition), we cannot “conceptualize” a fundamental reality with no space and no time. We may, however, eventually derive a mathematical model of such a fundamental reality (but it would very likely be a very difficult “shut-up-and-calculate” equation).

    Gravity might be an emergent property of a large conglomeration of microscopic constituents or fields.

    Juan Maldecena’s approach seems useful.

    It seems, on opening the box with the cat, that photons interact with the superposition to give a definite state of alive or dead. We can investigate whether introduction of a stream of only neutrinos into the box would give a definite state (detected by presence or absence of sounds from the cat or its tripping on something).

    Would a stream of neutrinos (instead of a stream of photons) also collapse the superposition to dead or alive?
