I’m getting used to the idea that our concepts of the nature of our universe tend to change as we dig for answers. My mind isn’t accustomed to grasping these concepts, but I keep trying. In a way, the idea that particles and space are not fundamental actually makes more sense than the idea that there is such a thing as fundamental.
June 20, 2023 at 4:10 pmEven controlling environmental factors wouldn’t change the chance mistake in DNA replication. Legislation regarding the rights of non-smokers in public spaces has been a big help in decreasing cancer levels, though. Further restrictions on air pollution would help as well. Industry does like to put up a fight and demand additional proof of the harms of pollution.
January 20, 2022 at 9:01 pmI like the idea of comparing decision-making among different age groups.
October 13, 2021 at 4:54 pmI like the Cyclic Theory, but I’m waiting on further discoveries before deciding.
October 13, 2021 at 4:09 pmThe scientific method is important, but cosmic theories will always take time to prove or disprove. The more theories the better, and the more experimental physicists out there working on them the better.
October 13, 2021 at 3:05 pmI appreciate the insights from Klaus Cormann regarding how much we have to look forward to from the JWST. Hopefully, the added information will help answer these questions. Until the, I am not ready to dismiss the theory of inflation.
October 13, 2021 at 2:39 pmI find that Elizabeth’s answer is sufficient to answer this.
October 4, 2021 at 9:46 pmI agree the density should increase. Interesting how quickly that would happen, as the mass is increasing and the volume would be decreasing because the length would contract as well.
September 28, 2021 at 4:02 pmThe answer from Abdulrahman Alhamali is very interesting and I like it.
September 28, 2021 at 3:34 pmConfusing, but it appears that the pole would be stretched.
September 27, 2021 at 6:54 pmBart crosses over. He sees that from his perspective, and observers at the cover may see it differently, but they can calculate how his measurement given the different time clocks on the front and rear of his skate board, would allow him to cross.
September 22, 2021 at 2:41 pmI would agree with those who say it depends on the “perspective” or mounting, of the explosive device, or perhaps more realistically the sensor.
June 30, 2021 at 6:07 pmIt’s good for me too, Roger. Encountering all this for the first time, I really can’t say how the concepts would sit with me if introduced differently, however.
June 5, 2021 at 9:08 pmIt was good to see the point of view used to change the variable to allow it to fit more easily into the equation.
April 26, 2021 at 9:59 pmSo far, this course, although challenging given it’s been 40 years since I was in college, has worked for me.
