12.4 Time Travel Graphic: Chosen Duration on Earth

This demonstration shows graphically how much time elapses on a spaceship given a fixed duration on Earth. Use one slider to choose the speed of the rocket and the other to choose the duration of the rocket’s journey from the perspective of those on Earth. Notice that as $v$ approaches $c$, the elapsed time on the ship becomes arbitrarily small.
