42.2 Relativistic Momentum
demonstration
This demonstration shows how a particle’s relativistic momentum, p(v), increases as its velocity increases. Use the slider to choose the velocity of a particle whose rest mass has been set at 5 kg. Notice how quickly its relativistic momentum increases at speeds greater than 0.8 $c$, soaring ever-higher as its speed approaches that of light.
