  • Something I’m struggling with here. In the example of the alien at a very far distance, travelling to and away on the bike, is the concept of ‘now’ ignoring the time taken for light (and hence information) to reach him from the guy on the bench on earth? If this was being accounted for, then at large distances I would assume this would dominate any effects and ALL earth events would be in the alien’s past and none could possibly be in it’s future.
    Any help with this would be appreciated.

    The stars moving across the night sky. They move as one, suggesting that they are not all coincidentally orbiting Earth in the same way but that the Earth is rotating.
