    Which of the four skeletons below belongs to the largest animal?

    The hindsections of four mammalian skeletons labeled A, B, C, D. A's feet are nearly flat on the ground, its legs are bent and its spine is hunched over. B's and D's legs are more fully extended and their spines are straighter. Proportionally, D has the longest tail of the four. C's legs and back are nearly straight and its leg bones are much thicker than the others', and its tail is the shortest of the four. Cite: Haldnae, 1926; Christiansen, 1996.
