It's interesting to know that consciousness is not located in the thalamus of our brain. What draws my attention is the idea that consciousness might simply be the energy from which each individual's perception develops, and that it could be situated in the thalamus. However, it goes beyond that. I should also pay attention to the receptors in our body, as I feel that it is the conjunction of both that creates consciousness.

Some models emphasise the role of a posterior cortical “hot zone” involved in conscious perceptual contents, while global neuronal workspace theories stress the importance of integration and information broadcasting across large cortico-thalamic networks. For this reason, the neural correlates of consciousness should not be understood as proof that experience can be reduced to local brain activation, but rather as an attempt to identify the neural structures and dynamics without which content would not become present to the subject as lived experience.
